Relax & Unwind

Peel cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the magnificent local mountains and lakeside attractions – all from the doorstep.

The cottage is located in a central location in Glenridding with all the amenities (pubs, shops, and cafes) just 3 to 5 mins walk away. The many other Lake District mountains and lakes are also only a short drive away.

The cottage has a south facing garden and patio which is a great place to relax after a long day on the fells. The cottage also benefits from being on a no-through road which is very quiet at night which is perfect for a good night’s sleep.

Extensively Renovated

Peel Cottage is a former 1890’s cottage which was originally built to home the miners (and their families) who were working at the nearby Greenside lead mine (the largest lead mine in the Lakeland).

The cottage has been extensively refurbished to provide extremely comfortable accommodation over three levels.

A Rich History

Originally the home of miners and their families working at the nearby Greenside lead mine, Stybarrow Terrace was built, from the stone excavated during the construction of the pass through Stybarrow Crag in 1890.

This mine was a major source of income for the village of Glenridding for way over a 100 years.
